FAQ

Which models do you use?

novquill uses modern language models via Gemini and OpenRouter (Mistral, Gemini Flash, and others) depending on the task: book analysis, chat, or portraits. We balance quality, speed, and cost.

What happens to my text after upload?

Text is processed to extract characters and run the chat. We do not publish your files or use them for model training. With an account, analysis metadata and chat history are stored according to your plan.

Does this violate copyright?

You upload text for personal use. novquill does not distribute books or replace buying the original. Public demos use classics with open access and prepared character descriptions.

Can I upload my own book?

Yes. Sign up, upload a .txt file — novquill will analyze an excerpt and suggest characters to chat with. Guests can use demo books from the catalog without registration.

Which formats are supported?

We support .txt (UTF-8, Windows-1251), FictionBook (.fb2, .fb2.zip), Mobipocket (.mobi), EPUB (.epub), and PDF with a text layer (.pdf). Image-only scans without OCR are not supported.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Pro is billed through Stripe. Cancel in the Stripe customer portal from your receipt email or in novquill Account — access remains until the end of the paid period.
